- about us
A significant presence of the Hungarian automotive suppliers should be guaranteed by the first Automotive Living Lab in Györ/ Hungary, close to the Hungarian- Austrian border, in the biggest International Industrial Park in Hungary. With the strong support of national and local stakeholders, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in April 2006, by the Ministry of Economy and Transport, 3 local SMEs (Varinex Rt, X10D Ltd, MONET 2000 Ltd.), West-Pannon Regional Development Agency, Gyor Industrial Park Ltd, INNONET Public Company, the COMIST & CoSpaces EU IST project coordinators and PANAC , as the largest automotive cluster in Hungary, representing around 80 industrial members. The physical workspace of the ALL in Györ will be opened during next year 2007, in the new building of the Operational Center of INNONET Public Company, in Gyor Industrial Park.
A Hungarian Automotive Living Lab for collaborative and virtual engineering will help to realize a persistent, mainly Open source based communication and virtual collaboration platform for all participants involved in the development and use of the technology. It enables research knowledge to be put into practice and strengthens the know-how and information exchange between local and European automotive companies, research, developers, suppliers and users of technology. In the regional politics of the West-Pannon Region, the Living Lab acts as a centralized innovation center for economic development, called AUTOPOLIS program, as a kind of the “poles of competiveness”. The companies are provided by PANAC Automotive Cluster’s economically sophisticated and modern technologies, thereby helping to combat tough global competition.
The focus areas for service and value creation in the Hungarian Automotive Living Lab are: set-up of the necessary methodologies, institutional building which is under progress, the creation of the physical labs for the CWE(Collaborative Working Environment) technology and IT tool’s transfer, the innovation platforms for the co-creative human interactions, the development of the educational materials etc. through some ongoing EU IST projects (Regins, RICARDA, BelCar,CoSpaces) as well. The ALL expect a real and close collaboration among the linked network partners from Europe and Hungary, in order to facilitate the distributed design and collaboration work processes plus the virtual and physical work methods for the automotive industrial partners across Europe. This can be realised for each types and level (OEMs, T1 and suppliers) through PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, PRODUCT AND PRODUCTION SIMULATIONS, DIGITAL FACTORY ,TESTING & LABORATORY , RAPID PROTOTYPING, VIRTUAL REALITY, and FULL ENGINEERING SERVICES
